LMH delivered a striking dual aspect scheme with views over Queens Drive and the local park as part of the ground-breaking Liverpool Housing Partnership.
The Hewitson Road development has seen eight attractive two- and three-bedroomed homes built on the former Larkhill Library site facing Queens Drive - on land released by Liverpool City Council to the award-winning Liverpool Housing Partnership.
Each family home benefits from contemporary interior spaces and high-quality fixtures and fittings. Three-bed properties also have private balconies overlooking the adjacent park.
The affordable rent development is one of several LMH schemes supported by the Partnership’s innovative cross-subsidy model, which sees receipts from land sales to Redrow Homes ring-fenced and reinvested by Liverpool City Council into affordable housing.
Hewitson Road had suffered five years of neglect following Larkhill Library’s closure in 2012. Legacy issues deterred firm interest from home builders, which made the site an ideal candidate for cross-subsidy.
With distinctive designs by John McCall Architects, Hewitson Road has been transformed from a neglected eyesore into a place where people are proud to live.
“It’s extremely pleasing to see families taking their keys for these new homes and seeing a once difficult site returning back to the community.”
