Size: 33 homes
Tenure: Affordable rent
Main Contractor: Bowsall
Completion: Spring 2016
An innovative off-site building technique has seen vacant land in Belle Vale transformed into 33 new sustainable family homes.
Naylorsfield Drive is LMH’s first entrance into modular construction and has provided the Belle Vale area of South Liverpool with 33 attractive new homes for affordable rent (21 two-bedroom and 12 three-bedroom properties).
The 3.5 million pound project saw individual timber-frame modules built in an off-site specialist factory in Hull, transported to the site via lorry and craned into position.
Improved energy efficiency to reduce running costs and a faster speed of construction were considered benefits that are not provided by traditional build, inspiring LMH to embrace the ‘Modern Methods of Construction’ agenda.
For Naylorsfield Drive, LMH joined forces with Bowsall which had previous experience of off-site construction, having completed a seven unit scheme at a site in Oldham.
Part-funded by the Homes and Communities Agency’s 2015/18 Affordable Homes Agency,
Naylorsfield Drive is part of LMH’s ambitious new-build strategy that aims to deliver over 350 new homes every year until 2021.
